Academic integrity is the most important part of keeping the course help forums running smoothly. To avoid abuse by students, adhering to the following rules will ensure that everyone's experience with the Kolbe forums will be a good one. Moderators have the right to delete or edit discussions which are non-pertinent or involve too much "chatting." Those users who abuse the rules of the forums after being warned may lose their permission to post to the forums.

1). Questions posted should be pertinent to the subject of the forum and should not be too personal. Remember that these forums are meant to be academic forums, not areas to chat about your favorite celebrities or restaurants.

2). The title of the post should reflect the content of the post. Including the name of the course in the subject line along with some indication of the topic can help parents and students to more easily sort through the threads to find the help they may need. This also helps the moderators to more easily and quickly respond to a question.

3). Posts should use correct grammar and punctuation in order to aid all of our students and parents in gaining the most insight to a post. The use of slang is also discouraged.

4). Unnecessary abbreviations, internet slang (i.e. LOL), and emoticons (smiley faces) should not be overused and generally avoided. These types of abbreviations can make it difficult for everyone to understand the question posed.

5). Students that are not yet in high school should not be allowed to post without the help of a parent. Once in high school, parents should be sure to know when and what their student is posting on the forums. We appreciate your cooperation in helping the forum stay as reputable as possible.

6). Most importantly, do not post any type of quiz or test question that a student may use for a course. Remember that all registered families, including students, can see the post. If a test question is posted for a course, another student may see it. This is considered academic dishonesty. If a parent or student has a very specific question about a test question or answer, it is better to email or call the advisor department directly for help.

7). Keep in mind that these forums will be moderated periodically throughout the week. We will answer your questions as soon as possible, but do not expect postings to be answered over the weekend or late at night. Please do not call Kolbe Academy asking why a post has not been answered yet, and certainly keep in mind that if you have an immediate concern or need, it is better to call Kolbe and speak with someone.

We thank you for using Kolbe's forums in a responsible way. We hope that you will find them useful to your Catholic home school endeavor.

God bless,

Kolbe Academy Academic Advisors
